Outcomes
What you'll master
VSC equips you to read autonomic state in real time, use your own regulated presence as intervention, and integrate polyvagal-informed practice into any clinical modality.
- Polyvagal Theory foundations
- Autonomic state assessment
- Co-regulation techniques
- Practical regulation tools
- Integration with existing modalities
Curriculum
Four modules. Polyvagal fluency.
Polyvagal Foundations
The three autonomic circuits, neuroception, and the social engagement system — Porges' framework applied to clinical work.
Autonomic State Assessment
Mapping ventral, sympathetic, and dorsal states in session. Tracking shifts, resources, and glimmers.
Co-Regulation in Practice
Therapist presence as intervention — prosody, pacing, and the biology of felt safety.
Practice Labs & Integration
Live skill-building labs, integration with EMDR, IFS, and somatic modalities, and case consultation.
Why VSC
Nervous-system-first clinical care
Every VSC module is grounded in polyvagal science and practiced live — so what you learn transfers directly into the therapy room.
Polyvagal Framework
Grounded in Dr. Stephen Porges' evidence-based Polyvagal Theory and its clinical applications.
Autonomic Mapping Toolkit
Structured protocols for assessing autonomic state and building state-shift resources with clients.
Live Practice Labs
Small-group labs to rehearse co-regulation, prosody, and rupture-and-repair with expert feedback.
Cross-Modality Integration
Works alongside EMDR, IFS, sensorimotor, and CBT — a nervous-system layer over any modality.
From the community
"CPT-II reshaped how I approach complex cases. The neuroscience modules gave me real scientific grounding, and the practical work has changed outcomes for clients I had been stuck with for years."
"After fifteen years with combat veterans I thought I had the playbook. CPT-I opened up evidence-based approaches I had not considered. The EMDR integration alone transformed our outcomes."
Frequently asked
- Who are TPA certifications designed for?
- Our CPT track is built for licensed mental health clinicians and graduate students. TS-C is designed for allied professionals — educators, first responders, healthcare staff, and case managers — who need trauma-informed knowledge without crossing clinical boundaries.
- Are TPA programs APA approved?
- No. CE accreditation is in progress and we are not currently offering APA CE credit. Our curricula are evidence-based and designed for licensed mental health professionals; we will publish accreditation details as soon as they are formally in place.
- How long do certifications take to complete?
- CPT-I is a 40-hour program typically completed in 8–12 weeks. CPT-II runs 60 hours, CPT-III 80 hours, and PsyT is a 120-hour leadership track that most candidates complete across two to three semesters.
- Is coursework live or self-paced?
- Every certification blends self-paced video modules with live cohort case consultations and supervised practice sessions. Live sessions are scheduled across multiple time zones.
- Do these programs carry CE credit?
- Not at this time. CE accreditation is in progress. Each program documents its contact hours — 40 for CPT-I, 60 for CPT-II, 80 for CPT-III, 120 for PsyT, and 24 for TS-C — and you receive a certificate of completion recording them, but they are not currently APA or NBCC CE credit.
