The Trauma Professionals Association was founded in 1999 by a small group of clinicians and researchers convinced that trauma deserved its own rigorous, internationally recognized credential path. A quarter century later, TPA-certified professionals practice in 85+ countries across hospitals, universities, public services, and private clinics.

Our mission is straightforward: raise the floor and the ceiling of trauma care. We do that with peer-reviewed curricula, supervised practice, continuing education that genuinely continues, and a faculty network that stays close to the research as it evolves.

TPA is an independent nonprofit. We are an APA-approved sponsor of continuing education and align with standards set by NBCC, IACP, EMDR International, ISTSS, and WHO trauma care guidance.
